I went to Penn's Caves on the 3rd, twas a really long drive(cough ride) to and from.. but all in all it was worth it. There was a bit of adventure though, that much I can say.
Our driver's side windshield wiper went retarded on our way down heheh, and to boot it was raining like crazy. The wiper seemed to like over-shooting the windshield altogether and smack the driver side window. This happened for about a full ten twenty minutes, until miraculously through the pouring rain there was.. a wal mart!! XD lol
*insert choir*
From there we got a really awesome stanley ratchet set, because we found out when we stopped at wally world that the bolt holding the entire wiper assembly was coming loose.
Me and my dad tried every one that the ratchet set came with that looked like the right size, but they weren't. That sucked, cause apparently ford taurus's are built with metric bolt sizes...
But the rain wasn't as horrendous as it was when we went in, so.. we kept on driving.
But we found out soon that the road was indeed still wet, and was flinging up a bunch of rain into our windshield. We were in the middle of a small town by then, Pleasantville from what I can recall. And in a short while a little bitty hardware store came into view. We of course stopped. Found the right part. It was only $1.45. Coupled it with our ratchet set, and tightened that stupid thing up. Had to pop the hood too. That's about it for that part.
Further on, we actually saw the girls gone wild bus, stopped at a bar somewhere. To tell you the truth I wasn't that interested, more hungry than anything.
We arrived an Dubois, PA.. which according to my map was where my family and I would be spending the night. Found two rooms at the local Best Western and soon dropped off our stuff. Later we found a Hoss's Steak House(they also serve seafood)
I was really surprised with this particular hoss's btw. About 75% of their staff were really hot girls XD ..and I didn't mind that at all.

So, Later on when we had left Hottie's steak house, me and my sister's enjoyed some tv back at the hotel, including Terminator 2, and Rambo: First Blood.. which were awesomely synced so that when one went onto commercial, the other came on. We also caught some Deadliest Catch as well. Eventually we went to sleep.
In the morning we woke up around 9-ish, had the continental breakfast, and got everything and everyone ready to leave. The rest of the traveling portion wasn't really that eventful except for some nice cars; winding, sloping, tree covered roadways and amish peeps plowing fields old school style.
But Penn's Caves was well worth it's drive, as hilly as it may have been. And a very scenic drive it was.
Came back on the 4th too.. but I was much too tired to stay up for any fireworks.
Anybody have a good time this Fourth of July?
